Symptoms

Greasy gray-green blotches on leaves that brown fast, white fuzz underneath in humidity, dark firm rot on fruit and tubers.

When it shows up

Cool, wet stretches in mid to late summer. Spreads on the wind and can wipe out a planting in days.

Jul Aug Sep

Treatment

Remove and bag infected plants immediately - do not compost. Copper fungicide can slow it on healthy plants nearby.

Prevention

Space for airflow, water at the soil line, grow resistant varieties, and rotate away from where tomatoes or potatoes grew.
